Idea Party! – An Intimate Crowdsourcing Solution

My friend Sarah Covert (aka @missing_muse) conceived Idea Party! as an exercise in crowdsourcing solutions for those people in her extended circle of friends who have goals, but need help identifying those necessary first steps that elude us.

It was an intimate gathering of five. Without going into details, the issues ranged from becoming an adult student, to launching an effective job search when one’s situation is restrictive, to time-management for often-distracted creative types (the category I fall into).

I found the ease of troubleshooting someone else’s plan personally insightful when contrasted against the seeming inability to troubleshoot my own. I know my weak points, but I can’t overstate how helpful it is when sympathetic people in the same position offer real, doable suggestions for potential steps to take.

We plan to reconvene in approximately four weeks to update each other on the progress made.
